PlasticMost plastics can be recycled but due to the costs, it is only economical at present to recycle five types of plastic from the home:
A wider range of plastics from industrial sources can be recycled. Check with your Council to see what is accepted in your area.

PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) - e.g. soft drink bottles 
HDPE (High density polyethylene) - e.g. milk and juice bottles 
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) - e.g. juice and cordial bottles 
PP (Polypropylene) - e.g. ice-cream containers and margarine tubs 
EPS (Expanded polystyrene) - e.g. white foam fruit boxes
